Fifteen years have passed since I created my first home page. Time has passed, I have been through many experiences,
I have grown. My home page followed me all around the world. It was hosted first by the university in Venice, then at
CERN in Switzerland, then by my university (UCBerkeley) in U.S.California and now that I am working at Google it has
its own dedicated server. And it has grown with me. I hope you will enjoy the visit.
November 7th 2009 More photos uploaded in the Marco's Japan trip gallery
It is taking a while, but I done uploading all my Japan photos, taken during my 2009 ICCV trip to Osaka and Kyoto.
I was quite impressed by the beauty of the landscapes and the temples, and extremelly touched by the Japaneese folks
friendly welcoming spirit.

September 27th 2009 12th IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision
The paper I wrote with my colleagues at Google,
"Large-scale Privacy Protection in Google Street View" was accepted and it will presented at ICCV 2009
in Kyoto (Japan). In this paper we improve the state of the art in face and license plate detections in the context of
streetview imagery. You can access this and other paper I published in the
[publications section]
May 1st 2008 Adaptive Traffic Control Protocol v1.0 released
I developped the Adaptive Traffic Control protocol (ATCP) and implemented it to work on TEES erratum 2 conforming 2070 traffic controllers
while working on my PhD. It is currently being used to develop ITS systems quickly while ensuring safety. The source code is open sourced and
can be downloaded in the [TTCS section]
November 6th 2006 ABC coverage of the IDS project
I worked for the IDS project when I was a Software Engineer at UCBerkeley California PATH. The project was aimed at reducing the number and
the severity of car accidents at intersections leveraging on a combination of wireless communication and sensor (rader / lider / cameras /
inductive loops / etc). My PhD dissertation work steamed from that project. It was nice to see it featured on ABC news today. [Click here to see the video]
